The Colloquia on Structural Information and Communication Complexity (SIROCCO) encourage high-quality research focused on the relationship between computing and communication, i.e., the study of those factors which are significant for the computability and the communication complexity of problems, and on the interplay between structure, knowledge and complexity. The Colloquium provides an opportunity to bring together specialists interested in the fundamental principles underlying all computing through communication.

SIROCCO 2004 will take place in the Smolenice Castle in Slovakia located about 35km from Bratislava. The castle, surrounded by a beautiful park, is towering above the village of Smolenice in the eastern foothills of Malé Karpaty (Small Carpatians). Destroyed in the late 18th century and rebuilt in the Romantic style, the castle now offers accomodation in a tranquil and romantic atmosphere. More information can be found at the conference web page http://sirocco.informatika.sk

SIROCCO 2004 proceedings are published in the LNCS series of Springer Verlag and contain 26 selected papers focused mainly on the areas of communication complexity, information dissemination, routing protocols, distributed data-structures, models of communication, network topologies, sense of direction, structural properties and computability, topological awareness and metric information.

The registration fee includes attendance to the lectures, accomodation for 3 nights (June 20,21,22) with full board, a copy of the LNCS proceedings, and social events. The early registration deadline is May 16. A student discount is available. Please, check the more detailed information at the conference web page http://sirocco.informatika.sk
